TEFAF New York Fall 2016 and Spring 2017

For the first time in its history, TEFAF made the major crossing to New York in the fall of 2016 and this spring of 2017 (TEFAF New York Fall and TEFAF New York Spring). Also in New York we have been given the responsibility for the floral decoration. For ten Kate a huge challenge where we have worked with great success with architect Tom Postma and the TEFAF organization.

Venue for both events was Park Avenue Armory, a nineteenth-century military building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, which has hosted numerous art events since 2006. Both American events could accommodate up to ninety participants, a third of the Maastricht number. The stands were on average half the size, and both fairs are four days shorter. Fresh flowers were flown in from the Netherlands for both fairs. The “dead materials” such as vases and other decoration material were shipped to New York with a container ship weeks in advance. Due to future editions, we now have storage space in New York.

For the decoration of TEFAF NY Fall 2016 we decorated the entrance, the information desk and the cash register with garlands of test tubes on wires with mainly white flowers. In the aisles, the art was brightened up with tall vases of white autumn flowers.

At TEFAF NY Spring 2017, eye-catching iron frames with hanging test tubes with colorful spring flowers were used as an eye-catcher at the entrance and the stairwell. This time, the aisles were decorated with tall pots containing different types and colors of tulips. With a wink referring to TEFAF Maastricht and the symbol of the Netherlands brought to America.

The preparations for TEFAF New York Fall 2017 (autumn) are already in full swing. This edition, we will again do everything in our power to surprise and amaze visitors with colorful, colorful flower arrangements and special decorations. We are ready!
