Bastiaan: “For many customers of our store I may not be a very familiar face, but I have been walking around our store on the twelloseweg for over 38 years. I am mainly concerned with the events branch within Ten Kate. ”“

Bastiaan… can you tell us a bit more about your work?
‘In addition to decorating events, I always go on purchasing together with Barbara to trade fairs and home shows of our suppliers. For example, together we visit Maison et Objet in Paris every year and a number of major Christmas fairs in Frankfurt. We put together the Christmas collection at the end of January. A few years ago, I also came up with the idea at this fair in Frankfurt to have the Lebuinus Tower Christmas bauble made. After each meeting with two companies, we finally had it developed in Poland. ”

The events of Ten Kate…
” Many will undoubtedly know that we have been able to provide the flower decorations at TEFAF in Maastricht for over 30 years and since 2016 also twice a year in New York. Events of this format are a long process. I supervise these projects from A to Z. Since March 15, major events such as TEFAF or the tennis tournament in Rosmalen have come to an abrupt end due to the corona crisis. Of course we hope that a solution will soon be found for the situation we all find ourselves in now. ”

‘What many people may not know is that, in addition to large events such as TEFAF, we also regularly organize small-scale events involving greenery & flower decorations and furniture. Think of garden parties or weddings. We process this together with renowned caterers and fellow rental companies. ”
