TEFAF Maastricht as usual again in March, after COVID.
Since December last year, designs, drawings and test setups have alternated in rapid succession. Until the ultimate “Wow effect” is created. When a final ‘go’ on the design is given at the end of January, preparations can start.
First we start “at home” in Deventer with making the right base and surfaces for the design. Followed by paint spraying the columns and pots in the right colors and ordering the right numbers of flowers. The staffing is also made for 2.5 weeks of TEFAF. At peak times, the team consists of 12 people who all spend the night in Maastricht.
More than 1.5 weeks before the opening, the first team will travel to Maastricht. The preparations are being continued in our temporary bindery and on the exhibition floor. In the last days before the opening, our team is at full strength to complete the monster job again this year. Clouds of gypsophila with a floral artwork of up to 9 meters high at the entrance. And spheres, also of pink and white gypsophila, which, as it were, roll down. The same large clouds hang on the squares, here the white and pink plaster are mixed together.
The aisles are decorated with pastel-colored columns with the same color pot with a decoration of spring flowers.
Every day before the opening of the fair and after closing, our team is busy maintaining and refreshing the decoration. The flowers should be as beautiful on the last day as on the first day of the fair.
